In continuation of the Lagos Task Force efforts to rid the State of the menace of Okada, the Agency recently raided major routes along Festac, Apple Junction, Badagry Expressway and Berger axis where recalcitrant Okada operators have resumed operations despite the existing ban on their activities.
The exercise, which lasted several hours, was led by the Chairman of the Agency, CSP Shola Jejeloye who stated that the Agency would continue clamping down on the activities of Okada Operators if they failed to comply with the existing law.
Jejeloye said, “Okada operations have been banned for good. It’s high time operators look for a different line of legitimate work or have their bikes impounded and also risk fines or jail terms. There is no room for illegal okada operations in Lagos”.
He equally assured Lagosians that the mop-up exercise of okada activities and others that go against the THEMES Plus Agenda of the State Government is going to be continuous and deliberate until commuter safety and serenity of the environment are restored in the Lagos metropolis.
